What kind of lifting exercises are good for an 800m runner?

I know that sprinters should do stuff like squats and big weight exercises like that, and that long distance runners should do exercises like hills to build muscle but I was wondering what kind of weightliftibng exercises would be good for a mid-distance (800m) runner? I’ve been doing lunges, step-ups, leg press, leg extension, leg curls and calf raises. Are any of these a bad exercise to use, and what would be a few good exercises to do? Thanks a lot.

I want to start jogging but there is a problem?

Ok I would like to start jogging instead of the exercises im doing now but threes one problem. First of all im 13 almost 14 years old. Second Ive never seen Somone my age jogging and i dint wanna look stupid. But i really want to get into better shape and not get as tired from running. Any advice /tips?

Where should i run i live in the city?

ANd how do i calculate a mile around my house so i can time my mile job?

What is a healthy distance to jog a day?

I’m a 17 year old male and have recently started jogging. What is a healthy distance for me to jog a day, I’ve been jogging a mile and plan on moving up to two miles in three weeks or so.
